Letting Good Sense Prevail, or I Give Up
Jan. 4th, 2007 01:29 pmLast night I decided that I would be much wiser not to try to finish my new dress for 12th night. And since I was so tired that I went to bed at 6:30pm, I can't say that I am really disappointed - relieved is more like it. I will wear my Elinor of Toledo dress, which has not yet seen a 12th night and so is at least somewhat new.
Otherwise, I'm feeling a bit better today. I'm immensely grateful that I don't have the Greencloak job, nor any other duties over the weekend. I can be a lady of leisure, or nap, or anything! It's most refreshing. This also means I'm free to do hair or lace bodices on Saturday morning.
Her Majesty wants all of her guardsmen to wear their uniforms at 12th night (until They step down at 5pm). Moriven is not thrilled and is negotiating a compromise so he won't have to wear a boring red tunic that doesn't fit all day. (They didn't give him enough material to make it from when they made their bulk order.) It's no 12th night if you don't get to wear the fancy duds.
