1. What/when was your first event?
Silver Crane Wrecking Ball... November 1994
2. What was your first war?
That Potrero that got moved to a new location because the site was being used as a staging ground for the forestry service to fight a fire. We moved someone's private land. The fighting was shut down at noon because it was too hot. We left site at 4pm and it was 104 degrees.
3. What is your favorite part of an event?
Relaxing at home in the Bellatrix pavilion in the evening with lovely friends, good port, and stellar bards.
4. What A&S skill/talent do you have or wish you had?
Mostly I wish I had more time to practice what I know.
5. Why did you choose the elements of your Coat of Arms/device?
Bears make me happy.
6. Favorite SCA song?
To the West
7. Favorite garb?
Hats!
I love houppelandes because they all require silly hats.
And Martin in his Henry VIIIs - dreamy :-)
8. Best advice received/given?
Done is beautiful
9. What is one thing you would like to change about the SCA?
Stop adding rules for rules' sake. Stop acting out of fear of lawsuits instead of encouraging people to take responsibility for themselves and their own safety. This totally harshes my medieval vibe.
10. Why do you do this hobby?
For the hats friendships, the arts, the opportunities for service. Mostly the friends.
And because historical dress up is slightly less geeky than other kinds.
