Feast of Fine Arts Fete

What I would have done differently, or notes to myself for next year.
1) Come up with a name that everyone can remember. Feast of Fine Arts? Arts Fete? That really pun-gent name that I came up with that made
moriven flinch? What was that, anyway?
2) Check the stove and oven at the site to make sure they work. I didn't know we needed to do that. I'm not sure how to test for "they only work sometimes" though.
3) Add or be the MC for next year. What better way will there be for me to enjoy the performances. Heck, I even missed the looks on people's faces when they were eating, which is the cooks' real reward.
4) Don't hold the event the week before Estrella. Maybe shortly after? Or, after 12th night, but not so close to the war so we don't cut into sewing time on either end? In November again? Some time when the weather is better so we can enjoy bocce and maybe airconditioning, too. Can we do indoor events in summer?
5) With a bazillion ideas running through my mind to expand the event... stick to this length for now. Unless there is a huge outcry for more stuff like this... maybe as a complement to a war. Wouldn't those campfire singalongs be more fun if some folks had gotten a chance to learn the words first? Crosston Ball does the practice session, why not a learn-to-sing session?
6) Get a bigger hall. We were cozy at 60 people, and there was certainly a demand for more seats.
7) Charge more for tickets. The ticket sales covered the cost of food, but not the hall, so we will be doing a silent auction at Beltane. Even though we planned it that way for this feast, I don't want to have to do that next time. And no, RdC, we don't want to clean out your garage to get things for our auction. What would we do with that old computer monitor at an event?
